The twentieth session of Caravaning Brno 2023, an international exhibition of caravans, motorhomes, extensions, overlanders, accessories and equipment, in short, everything that inherently belongs to travelling on four wheels, was opened with a festive toast. It is the most important event of its kind in the Czech Republic.

The opening ceremony was attended by Jan Kubata, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno; Petr Kratochvíl, Councillor for Transport and City District Administration of the City of Brno; Jan Bordovský from the Association of Camping and Caravanning; and Josef Vrtal, known as Fotr na tripu, who became the ambassador of Caravaning Brno 2023.

Jan Kubata welcomed guests, visitors and, above all, exhibitors who came to Brno. "We are very happy that you came not only to camp here, but also to occupy three of our halls. The twentieth ‘birthday’ edition of our fair is the biggest we have had so far, and that makes me really happy – not only because I'm a fan of caravanning," said the CEO, who wished everyone to really enjoy the days they spend here and hopes to see everyone again next year, perhaps in even greater numbers. He thanked the Association of Camping and Caravanning of the Czech Republic and the Association of Campsites of the Czech Republic for making it possible to organize such a magnificent event together with the expo teams and the City of Brno.

Petr Kratochvíl first of all apologized to everyone on behalf of the city, because of what the traffic situation looks like at the moment, not only around Brno, but also in the immediate vicinity of the exhibition centre. "I firmly believe that next year you will be here in at least the same numbers as this year," he said, hoping that next year's edition will be better managed in this respect.

Jan Bordovský is directly connected with Caravaning Brno 2023. "The first year of Caravaning was such a special event, a gathering of exotic-looking people with some big white boxes. It's such a matter of the heart for me, it sounds like a cliché, but I haven't missed it once in 20 years. I came here when I didn't even have a license, I celebrated my twentieth birthday here, I celebrated my thirtieth birthday here at the booth, now I'm celebrating my fortieth birthday here. I've experienced good and bad times here, and 20 years gives you a fairly good perspective. Every year I am as much excited about coming here as I was the first time, and I have to say that what I always enjoy about this expo is that every year the team that organises the fair always finds the motivation to improve every year step by step and to bring the fair closer to some ideal, which is terribly motivating and encouraging for the rest of us who are involved in it. And I think that's especially visible this year. The 20th edition is fascinating from my point of view, and I thank you for that, I wish you all the best for the years to come and I believe that I will celebrate maybe also my sixtieth birthday here," Jan Bordovský said enthusiastically.

The last to take the floor was Josef Vrtal. "This is an exhibition for all people who don't want to sleep at home and want to sleep anywhere, in any location. There are roof tents and mini caravans. I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole exhibition and finding inspiration for our next trip. I'd just like to add that there's this lovely Adventure Hall, which is meant for those who don't have those big white boxes but want it more the wild way. I'm sure you'll find inspiration for your next trip here and maybe it will change your life," Fotr na tripu declared passionately.

Concurrently with Caravaning Brno, the GO and Regiontour tourism fairs are also taking place.
