A record-breaking number of 91 exhibits fought this year for the GRAND PRIX Awards of the Techagro, Biomass and Silva Regina fairs. An eighteen-member jury, headed by its chairman Jiří Mašek, the Dean of the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague, eventually selected 17 of them. Prizes and plaques were handed over at the ceremonial evening together with the Minister of Agriculture Jiří Milek, and with Jiří Kuliš, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the company Trade Fairs Brno.

From 8 to 12 April 2018, the next edition of the SILVA REGINA International Forestry and Hunting Fair will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre. It will be held concurrently with the TECHAGRO International Fair of Agricultural Technology and the BIOMASS Trade Fair for Renewable Sources of Energy in Agriculture and Forestry. The Brno agricultural and forestry trade fairs are among the largest European fairs in this field, the Brno Exhibition Centre is sold out this year. The motto of the SILVA REGINA 2018 fair is "Forest Protection by Economic Use". This theme will be reflected mainly in the accompanying programme and includes both the gamekeeping and forestry parts of the fair.

Once again this year, Silva Regina will feature the popular Czech Cup Silva Regina race in the popular lumberjack race STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS®. This year's edition boasts a record number of competitors from all over the Czech Republic, including members of the national team headed by Martin Komárek. 18 competitors will race in four disciplines. The competition marks the start of 8 qualifications for this year's Czech Republic Championship.

New awards for exhibits supporting soil water retention

As in the previous years, the GRAND PRIX TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS contest will be part of the Brno agricultural and forestry fairs, where an expert jury will select the best entered exhibits and hand awards to them, which the exhibitors will receive at a gala evening on the first day of the fair. The GRAND PRIX contest saw a major innovation for this year's season, prepared by Trade Fairs Brno. In fact, the exhibits entered to the GRAND PRIX contest may moreover apply for a SOIL WATER RETENTION FRIENDLY plaque that confirms the beneficial effects of a machine or technology on soil properties, leading to an improvement in the retention function of the soil.

On Sunday 8 April, the TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS trade fairs will be launched at the Brno Exhibition Centre, as in the previous years they will last until Thursday. For Thursday 12 April, the organizers prepared the most favourable conditions for organized groups, which mostly arrive as bus tours. While on other days bus participants will pay CZK 80, they can visit the trade fair free of charge on Thursday.

Three international trade fairs focusing on agricultural technology, forestry and hunting, and renewable energy in agriculture and forestry will take place at the Brno Exhibition Centre from 8 to 12 April 2018. In about seven months, the Brno Exhibition Centre will welcome the first visitors to the agrarian and forestry fairs in 2018. This complex, consisting of TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS is the most important trade fair event in its field in Central Europe, the Brno Exhibition Centre is completely sold out and more than 100,000 visitors come in regularly. Current development and signals from preparations indicate that the TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA and BIOMASS agrarian and forest fairs will be successful in 2018 as well.

The complex of agricultural and forestry fairs held in Brno confirmed its position as trade fair event of a European scale. Exhibitors occupied the entire area of the Brno Exhibition Centre, green spaces, parking lots and galleries of the halls were also used; a provisional assembled Hall K with an additional area of 5 thousand square meters was built. The number of foreign exhibitors and presented brands increased, among which none of the world's leading manufacturers of agricultural equipment was missing. Thanks to the concept of the supporting programme with a focus on specialized topics, we managed to increase the proportion of trade visitors. In five days, 110,000 visitors passed through the gates of the Brno Exhibition Centre; similarly as in previous years, the biggest rush was recorded on Sunday.

The TECHAGRO, SILVA REGINA, ANIMAL VETEX and BIOMASS fairs offered an opportunity for prestigious award announcement and presentation ceremony. A total of 13 best exhibits out of nearly 100 entered exhibits succeeded in the Grand Prix contest. Prizes were also awarded by cooperating editorial teams, along with Memorial Certificates of the Agrarian Chamber of the CR and a total of nine local producers received the Regional Food award of the South Moravian Region.

From 3 to 7 April 2016, a complex of four agricultural and forestry fairs will be held in the Czech Republic, at the Brno Exhibition Centre: TECHAGRO International Agricultural Equipment Trade Fair, SILVA REGINA International Forestry and Hunting Fair, ANIMAL VETEX International Veterinary Fair and BIOMASS Trade Fair for Renewable Sources of Energy in Agriculture and Forestry. Among these fairs clearly dominates the TECHAGRO fair. This complex is among the three largest of its kind in Europe. On an area of 86,000 square meters will locate their displays 760 exhibitors from 22 countries and visitors will see 1167 represented brands. This year's will record the highest number of foreign participations in the history of the organization of the trade fairs. Numerous groups of exhibitors will come from Hungary and Italy, and for the first time representatives from Korea will attend.

Historical record-breaking TECHAGRO 2014 – preliminary final report

The group of agricultural and forestry equipment trade fairs was record-breaking in all its parameters. The indoor as well as outdoor exhibition spaces at the Brno Exhibition Centre were used up to the full capacity, the exhibition stands even occupied lawns and other unusual exhibition spaces. The number of visitors surpassed all expectations and soared up to 120 thousand people over five days. Over the first three months of the year, a total of 340,000 people thus came to visit the Exhibition Centre in Brno. An absolute record was recorded on Sunday, 30th March, when the exhibition centre gates were crossed by as much as 38,034 visitors making it the highest number in all trade fairs organised in Brno over the past 10 years. Just during the first day, the number of arriving visitors was higher than during the entire first edition of the fair back in 1994. „This year’s Techagro has definitively confirmed its supra-regional Central European importance, being one of the three leading agrarian technology fairs in Europe,“ said Managing Director of BVV Trade Fairs Brno, Jiří Kuliš.
