Brno City Museum continues to cooperate with the BVV Brno Exhibition Centre. This year, visitors to the 44th STYL & Kabo will again have a unique opportunity to visit the Špilberk castle free of charge on 24-26 August 2014, namely the famous Casemates and an exhibition dedicated to architecture in Brno between 1919 to 1939, called the For A New Brno.
From Sunday, 24 August to Tuesday, 26 August 2014, the Brno Exhibition Centre will belong to the latest fashion trends in clothing, textiles, footwear and accessories. Manufacturers and importers will present traders with collections prepared for spring and summer 2015, the fair will include attractive fashion shows and an expert accompanying programme. In addition to the traditionally presented sectors, new successful projects will reappear, such as a Fresh Fashion Zone dedicated to young, independent creation or special sections for textiles and haberdashery.
Already a year ago, organisers of STYL decided to meet the growing interest in fabrics, haberdashery and other subcontracts required for the final production of clothing. This trend is related to the return of production of higher quality goods to Europe.
Fresh Fashion, a selection of original young fashion first opened at the STYL fair in August 2013. It was then a step into the unknown, but it turned out that small companies with genuine Czech products fill a niche in our standard fashion market. The response of trade fair visitors was so positive that the Fresh Fashion Zone returned to the Brno Exhibition Centre in February - six months earlier than originally planned.
Brno fashion fairs have been succeeding in reaching out to new groups of exhibitors and visitors on a long-term basis. In addition to presentations of young independent portfolios in the Fresh Fashion project, the textiles and haberdashery section will again be presented in August. Completely new themes such as shop decorations or handmade products are planned for the future.
On Saturday, 29 March, the charming Gabriela Franková became the winner of the 10th edition of the Czech Miss contest. The second place and a Czech Miss World title was taken by Tereza Skoumalová. Just a few weeks before that they also impressed the participants of the February STYL fair, as models showcasing a collection of women's fashion for autumn - winter 2014.
The 43rd trade fairs STYL and KABO prove the stabilization of the fashion industry as well as an improving situation in retail. The biggest B2B gathering of textile, fashion, footwear, and leatherwear industry for the Czech and Slovak market attracted more than five thousand trade visitors, businessmen, and buyers. The collections presented were mainly fashion collections for the autumn and winter of 2014/2015.
Today at 9 o’clock the gates of the Brno Exhibition Centre were opened. The pavilions P and F have just started hosting the 43rd International Fashion Trade Fairs STYL and KABO, where more than 550 fashion, footwear, and leatherwear brands from seventeen countries are presenting themselves. The catwalks have come alive as well.
STYL and KABO fairs at the Brno Exhibition Centre have been held two times a year since 1993. From their inception they were a specialized B2B show of the fashion industry. The aim of the organizers has always been to create an optimal environment for business, presentation and international cooperation in these sectors. Many brands and fashion designers known and established today entered the fashion market here in Brno.
This year at the STYL fair, the Pleas company is celebrating their anniversary of 140 years from the start of textile and knitwork production in Havlíčkův Brod, but instead of looking over the shoulder into the past, the company shows the future of the field. New treatment technology LongLife prolongs the life of cotton knitworks so even after many washings, the products still look brand new.
