WOOD-TEC confirmed its position as the most important wood processing and furniture manufacturing event for Czechia and Slovakia
Automation, robotics and digitization in wood processing and furniture manufacturing – these are the main trends introduced by the 15th edition of the WOOD-TEC International Fair for Wood Processing and Furniture Industry, which is supported by the world association EUMABOIS. In particular, the focus on Industry 4.0 reflects the demand of woodworkers and furniture makers who struggle to handle orders with the current shortage of skilled workforce.
On 2 November, WOOD-TEC exhibitors’ displays were full of visitors. The accompanying programme filled the WOOD-TEC Arena right from its opening at ten o'clock. The subject of the introductory discussion was the shortage of FSC wood for the Czech furniture-making industry, which brought representatives of the largest Czech furniture-making companies and professional associations in furniture manufacturing on the stage.
The opening day of the WOOD-TEC trade fair was a success mainly thanks to the presence of Czech top-selling companies in the area of wood processing and furniture manufacturing. Representatives of professional associations and universities met up at a discussion at the WOOD-TEC Arena, and visitors used the opportunity to ask questions.
Yesterday, 31 October, at 4:00 pm, WOOD-TEC Arena hosted the announcement of WOOD-TEC Award results. The prizes were handed over by Ms Dana Maria Staňková, Director of Commerce at the company Trade Fairs Brno, along with the chairpersons of the evaluation juries. This year, for the first time ever, the first winners of the new WOOD-TEC Award exhibit competition were announced at the WOOD-TEC woodworking fair in Brno. At trade fairs worldwide it is quite common that the best people and the best exhibits that the fair offers are appreciated.
